Waterfront Bouncer is a card I see in a lot of lists and I'm not exactly sure why, and since I'm messing about with my list at the moment I thought I'd ask people why they run it to see if I should be running it too.
I can see the upsides of having a discard outlet which provides a stream of Unsummons whether to delay your opponent or to exploit EtB effects on your own stuff but requiring discard limits its use and the 1/1 body isn't exactly all that useful.
There is a 4th secret option of Augur of Bolas but I'm pretty sure he's not as good as any of the above cards.
Was considering cutting the Isle from my blue section and have been trying to up my count of EtB ability creatures which is where the Oracle comes in, however, does the cheaper cost and repeatable effect of the Looter out-weigh the Oracle's ability to block fairly well against aggro decks?
Thanks for the explanation Eidolon, that makes a fair bit of sense to me now. Gonna cut the looting for sure, will prolly also cut sneak attack as reading over the SCD for it made me realise how narrow it is in my cube now that I've reduced the super ramp stuff.
Cut Faithless Looting + Sneak Attack, since these cards don't fit into what red is trying to do in this cube. After the inclusion of 2 additional finishers, my cut #3 would be Devil's Play.
Thanks for the advice guys, gave me some good things to think about. Something I'm curious about though is the comment above by Eidolon. You say that those cards aren't what red's trying to do in my cube but I'm slightly unclear why this is the case.
I guess due to the focus on aggro red doesn't have many good targets for sneak attack, but does this matter when it could get targets from a supplementary colour? Or does the isolated effect in red mean the cards rarely gonna be used? It's a recent addition and hasn't turned up in play yet.
I figured faithless looting would be a decent card in an aggro deck which could loot away excess lands for more action, although I guess my last aggro deck was so land light that it wouldn't ever have the lands available to loot.
In theory I don't have an issue dropping these two cards, which I didn't realise until you suggested them (thanks), however, one side effect would be that red would no longer have anything to support a reanimator deck, is this likely to be a problem? We've only had on true combo reanimator deck and it was grixis, with faithless looting being a really strong card, even Jaya was there too but wasn't drawn. I have recently been toying with adding Firestorm to further support red aided reanimator.
Well the endless tinkering continues. Was considering adding the Splinter Twin combo into my cube for a bit of a change. Got a bit of play in the blue section for the additions but I'm struggling with what to cut in red.
I feel that I could probably cut Destructive Force and Devil's Play but I'm not sure what else or if they are correct cuts. Having 3 "wildfires" has been pretty fun. Jaya hasn't really turned up much and doesn't get much love on these forums but she's one of my few pet cards in the cube and I'd like to keep her around for more testing.
I'm running 5 spells per guild and I run these lands in RG, GW, UR and RW.
I drafted a boros aggro the other day and finally got to play with the stronghold and it was amzing, pushed through a bunch of extra damage and really made my opponent groan when they read it. The RG and GW ones have been used now and again to some good value and I've ran the lighthouse in a grixis reanimator deck although I don't think it actually showed up. I'd happily cut the lighthouse if we get a good Izzet card from Dragon's Maze (think people are expecting a planeswalker). The others are hear to stay for a while as I like having lands available to draft with so would probably cut othe spells from my guild sections before the lands if possible.
I'd like to be able to run the Orzhov land but the guild is too deep to allow it. WU and UB interest me but I don't have space for them currently.
p.s. Ooh! 100th Post.
Edit: Might also be worth adding that I run all 5 Worldwake Man-Lands but I include them as part of the 4 colour-fixing lands per guild rather than as "spells" which others do.
I may be being blind but is there a way to download these casts? I like to listen to these at work but the net is so slow things take days to load and streaming stuff just crashes everything.
I got the first one fine but the format seems to have changed.
Facebook has passed the line of giving me adverts for lingerie and actually put an advert for what appears to be some kind of "adult" FB page in my news feed...
I really need to see FMA: Brotherhood, been told is better than the original anime so I have huge hopes as I thought it was brilliant. I'm not too far into Fairy Tail (about episode 70, just finished the Nirvana Arc), it's pretty cheesy (and holy crap is there a lot of fan service) but what can I say, I'm easily amused. :-D
Well I'm updating this thread for my move to 450 powered, but I can't find a way to edit my title. I'm sure it's possible as others do it to highlight changes after a set etc.
Warm beer is my other pet-peeve, it's not warm, just not fridge-cold. Real ales should be drank around 10C (50F) otherwise the cold dulls the tastebuds and you lose a lot of the flavour. Each to their own though, I keep beer in the fridge but do enjoy a pint of "warm" cask-conditioned ale in a pub. [/beer-snob]
While I'm on a rant, do americans put ice in their bourbon? I don't put it in my scotch but I do in bourbon.
I recently added it after seeing an LSV cube draft where he managed to play 6 of the 7 cards he got from it - gotta love BCSM.
I've drafted it once or twice in the artifact.dec and it's been pretty solid, good support for Goblin Welder shenanigans just like with standard reanimator.

For information, I already run Enclave Cryptologist and Looter il-Kor as looting effects in blue.
Thanks.

Thanks for the thoughts once again.
I want to add Splinter Twin, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Imperial Recruiter with the recruiter not being essential but I want to try him oout and he aids the combo.

Recently started watching Fairy Tail after getting it from a friend, totally awesome. Made by the same guys who do One Piece.
Help please?
