Think these cards may have come up in similar debates before but my search function is broken. :-(

    Beast Within or Bramblecrush?

FYI I'm now running 450 powered, and in fact that's how I can pass the time tonight.

    Here's hoping.

Next block: Return to Zendikar. Cheap fetches for all!

Would it break modern in half if they reprinted the Onslaught fetches?

@Bob: Very true, makes eating healthy while on the rigs quite tricky when everything's fried. I guess beyond Fish and Chips our food is just pub grub style things, Steak and ale pie, sausages etc. Part of the issue is that all the interesting foods won't grow over here so we've had to make do with what we had. Although, apparently Chicken Tikka Masala is almost entirely British, mix of Indian idea and spices with Tomato soup. :-D

Yeah, I heard about the "land in every pack" deal. Not got any for EDH yet but I did get them for my cube before the above announcement. Shame that fetches are still so expensive, I find shocks only really worth it when the 2 are paired.

In other news... The stereotype view of British food being bland and boiled always makes me laugh a bit.

Ah well, I'm now really glad I fitted out my EDH decks with them before modern. I was just starting to consider getting shocks when modern was announced and the prices jumped so I didn't bother. Turned out fine since those are now more reasonable thanks to RtR/Gtc.

Edit: Geeze! I got my 2 GGs for next to nothing 6 months ago.

Does anyone know what's made the price of the Shadowmoor/Eventide filter-lands jump so much? Just randomly checked them and Twilight Mire is around $20! They all jumped a bit when modern was announced but they seem to have gone even more recently and I'm not sure why.

Read through this last night, really sweet, kinda makes me want to build something similar since it looks amazing fun. Entertaining read too. Smile

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but playing a five mana tutor/ramp dude who can't protect himself seems absolutely not worth building your deck around.

My favourite play with Tezz 1 last time I drafted the artifact deck was playing him, then tutoring up my pet budgie.

I know what you're getting at but I just thought I'd share this play.

The only problem I had with that deck was that Tezz 2 wasn't in the pool.

Smile I'm not quite that bad OP, but I know what you mean about wanting to know the story if not experience all the adrenaline and see things I don't really want to see.

Had this brilliant thing happen during my last draft that I wanted to share and wondering if other had had similar happen.

Drafting with my wife who only plays magic casually and doesn't interact with it outside our games, she comes across Force of Will as the only card in her colours and has a wee rant about how it appears to suck and she doesn't see why I run it (which is understandable from a newer player's perspective, 5 mana or 1 life and a card for a counter seems steep).

She drafts it anyway and runs it in what turned out to be a silly WU control deck against my UBr Artifact deck and in 3 of 5 games she Forces my turn 2/3 Tinker and gets a nice value counter in a 4th game. She now really likes FoW. :-D

It just makes me happy when I see her (or my other friends) learn something new or analyzing a game state much deeper. One of the many way that a cube is awesome. Smile

    Another experience request. Smile

How has Glissa, the Traitor been for those of you who run her as an EDH cube general?

My default thought was to run Savra and the sisters because I've always liked both but never build a deck for them since they'd play out similar to my Vorosh and Teysa lists. However, the more I work on my lists the more I think Glissa would be more interesting than Sisters.

If she's been good for you, how much support does she require from the cube in general? Does she require some tweaks like running Executioner's Capsule and Moriok Replica?

    Thanks

I had a squint at your lists to see which walkers you all run and I can see a reasonable trend. The Elspeths and Garruks help support token themes very well, Venser definitely boosts the blink decks power as well as providing a nice unblockable swing on a stalled out board.

Guess I'll start off with them in and see how it goes.

Thanks again for the feed back, I'll post my list once it's done.

Funny you should mention Garruk 1, I've always loved him in EDH but others often found that he just dies and prefer stuff like Explosive Vegitation.

Yeah, the ultimates of walkers like Karn and Vraska worry me a bit, but I guess it's just something to keep en eye on.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Heya Guys,

This is mainly aimed towards the EDH cube designers, but any advice is appreciated.

I'm in the process of designing an EDH cube, gonna start at 450 cards + 40 generals since I'll generally only have 3 or 4 players and a max of 6, allowing for 75 cards each, which seems to be around the standard. Been using the lists from LostCondottiere/Theogony IX, Dolono and Wildfire393 as reference.

The current quandary I'm facing is whether to include planeswalkers or not. I ran then in my regular EDH decks to varying degrees of success and I searched this thread and found a few posts saying they tend to just die due to too many attack phases to live through. However, I see that all three of my reference lists choose to run them.

I was wondering how they are for you guys? I was gonna run them but when looking at my gold sections I realised that I can only run 3 cards in each guild (in addition to a signet and 4 land) as such I wasn't sure I could run them with such tight slots. Easier to fit the mono-coloured ones in so I thought I'd look for some feedback.

Thanks for any help in advance.

I know what you guys mean but I get the opposite. Despite having a wife, mortgage and job on the rigs, I still feel like a kid a lot of the time. It's probably because all my free time is spent watching anime (One Piece rocks), playing magic and playing various RPG. Keep wondering when I'll feel like a traditional adult.

Wild boar is very tasty, think I've had kangaroo but since I don't remember it obviously wasn't very memorable. Never had Elk.

So Extort plays out pretty well in EDH? Thought it might, shall try and add a few more of the cards to my EDH Cube beyond the Ghast.
