Hey all, I need some help retuning my deck a bit. I haven't played modern since mid June, and plan to start playing again this week. I don't have access to Spell Snares, Walkers, or Revelations right now, but could get them in the future. I'm looking to have the safest list + SB I can with my current situation. My current list:
He mostly appears to have a problem with the powerful recursion in the deck, and I can't really tone that down much because most of the nonlands in the deck are only really good with recursion. I am currently building Karador and Thrax, but those are both longish term due to my budget. Thank you for all the responses so far!
So, one player in my playgroup does not like my Sharrum deck, and while I understand that Sharrum is a powerful, unfair general, I have already toned my deck down from a full-on combo deck to a control deck that uses Sharrum combo as a lategame finisher. The other decks in my playgroup are Zedruu and Intet by the way. So, what would you do in this situation? Tone down the power level of the deck even more, or ask them to put in hate cards against my deck?
i tried to turn to URW flash as i saw all of these lists making incredible results. i don't find myself comfortable with it.
I still wanna try to play this deck but obviously we need to find a way to protect our creatures from removals because THAT is what killed this deck.
I am thinking about running Boros reckoner that is definitely the new black. Or we need to find hexproof creatures.
Reckoner is not as good in a format with lots of non-damage removal. And there really are not that many other good hexproof creatures in the colors besides Geist.
why are people still running mindcensor in the mainboard?
Because it's good against Tron, Jund, and the mirror, which make up the majority of the current meta? Plus, what else would you put in besides Cliques/Restos?
What might it take for it to be more viable? Maybe high amounts of combo in the meta, meaning everyone packs less/clunkier removal?
But more combo means Delver has to race very very fast and have countermagic always up. I would say Delver cannot be a viable deck until more removal-stopping cards are printed, as if Delver gets too popular and powerful, people just run more removal right now.
Are people doing okay with this deck? I love the feel of it and it's crushing on Cockatrice, but is totally missing from the MTGO dailies. Is it just not viable even with boros charm?
This deck is not very viable right now, there is too much removal for a deck that often relies on delver or lynx to win. Boros charm is good, but it doesn't stop path and you do not always have the mana for it up.
I was a lurker in this thread, but now I'm trying this deck out and was wondering whether or no rakdos crackler would be a better fit in the steppe lynx slot. I figure its like goblin guide without haste but won't provide our opponent card advantage
Goblin guide is better. Sure, they might get an extra land from it, but it's 2 damage on turn 1 instead of zero and maybe 2 on turn 2.

Whoops, forgot to say I also bring that in.
The thing is, his only graveyard hate is RiP, not crypt or any instant-speed one.

So then, on average, what place would you have to be at to be able to draw in?

No, not really. Resto is better in every way in this deck. Resto is also very strong with Snappy, Clique, and Resto.
