I'm still under the assumption that these cards aren't real. Going to take a lot more evidence to prove either if these three cards are indeed real. As anyone confirmed these outside of some random twitter member? And how exactly did this person. Even aquire this information to begin with? I'm sure prerelease packs arent even floating around and if it was in a random pack like others in the past, we would have gotten the entire card.
If he plea guilty to sexual assault, that would make him register as a sex offender if I'm not mistaken. If that's true, wouldn't he be required NOT to be near a place where children could possibly be around? What if, and I'm not saying it would, something happened at an event and they blamed Zach for it? With his background, this would be a media circus and something WOTC would very much like to avoid.
Will this card return itself to the battlefield if she dies with a +1/+1 counter on her? I can't seem to find any info to prove if she would or wouldn't.
Made this deck for FNM about a week ago and yesterday was able to pilot it to good success with 2nd place. Today I got a win-a-box in a few hours and want a bit more advice on the deck. Anyone have any suggestions to this deck? Any advice would be much appreciated.
To the people saying this card is good and very playable, make a deck with her and post it somewhere on here where we can find it. Sure we don't have all the cards yet for JOU but being a small set and at least twenty of the cards being lands, we have basically over half of them now. I just wanna see where you guys are coming from when you say she's amazing. Prove it by making us a deck that's not extremely fragile to the current meta as is.
After a day of thinking about this card, I can see some type of aggressive BG deck with her and some other BG cards. Only problem is the Dredge deck going around is just better in all ways. Even after that all rotates away, the cards in the deck in these colors that are graveyard dependent, Graverobber Spider, Pharika's Mender, Nighthowler, and Nemesis of Mortals, all want creatures in the graveyard and Pharika makes them all weaker cards. She's anti-synergy with her own block colors. Also these constellation creatures are all too fragile to even be considered as a good reason to use this card. Wizards just straight up missed the ball on this god. All I want now is a MaRo article explaining exactly how this mess came to be. Sadly we'll probably never get that article.
Heh. While I don't play competitively, there are a couple of funny points about Pharika, besides her obvious political uses in multiplayer. (Yes, the following is casual-only.)
1) She allows for Scavenge and Bestow strategies without needing a creature in play to scavenge/bestow onto. You use her ability to get a creature you can then Scavange onto. Varolz is better, no doubt, but there's something to be said for redundancy.
2) She loves to fight. IIRC, one of the first JOU cards spoiled was a Strive card that allowed X creatures you control to fight other creatures.
3) The tokens don't die to Extinguish All Hope, and trigger Constellation (as others have noted).
1) So I have to remove a creature from my graveyard to get a 1/1 token. Then I have to remove a creature with scavenge from my grave to make said token stronger. Then when they kill the token with a D-Sphere, Hero's Downfall, or bile blight in response to scavenge, I'm out two creature plus all the mana to make this happen.
2) Don't all the kill spells black have do a better job at killing creatures more efficiently?
3) They die to everything else being 1/1 creatures, betsow creatures trigger constellation for better value, and god forbid they kill your constellation creature in response or you have to remove a creature from your opponent's yard to prevent something when they have a Constellation creature. Now they get extra value.
Card is bad dude. Everything it can possibly do or combo with, other cards do it better and more efficiently. I'm just hoping MaRo do an article on her so we can find out how she came to be this bad.
this car is by far the worst thing I have ever seen come from Wizards. Why on earth would they make something so terrible that is unplayable in any format. Ad a bg dredge player I was hoping for something that would at least make my deck stronger by making my creatures harder to kill but instead they gave what was suppose to be the strongest BG card in the set an ability that's weaker than any other card in the entire block and standard. Scavenging Ooze and Deathrite Shaman are far more beneficial in all aspects of gy hate and gy helping me do stuff. Also to the people saying she's a 5/5 beater for 3 mana, she first has to get a devotion of 7 to do that and the amount of kill spells rolling around makes keep said devotion a hard thing. Pharika is this year's selesyna guild runner, she's just bad at everything she could possible do.
So Simple enough question, Given the template of ephara, mogis, ect. I'm curious, Would something like rakdos shred freak cound as 2 devotion or 4 for Mogis? Logic tells me 4, 2 for black, and 2 for red. But given how powerful that would be I feel like it can't possibly be that way. If so Burning tree emissary just got a whole lot better. (and it was already good.)
Hybrid mana will count as 1 devotion for whatever color it is, it won't be double. Example, BTE will count as 2 devotion for Xenagos. This is all explained in the article explaining the minor gods.
