Well, if you look at this block picks up after Onslaught block so it would make sense for these creatures to return. Though, the last merfolk was a bad, bad man (naughty merfolk.) I hope that weird creature types return, such as our crazy dimwitted friend and of course, the master himself.
If we take this into account, maybe we can get some weird, Merfolk Goblin Fungus creature that turns into the pwn.

@Ziveeman: yeah, i'm pretty sure the winners are in the art.
@Hydro: Who's the source for the card? I understand that Unluckyman's Paradise was an invitational card but where did you get the actual picture of Gemstone Caverns? JW.
Whoever said they took other artists is correct. My cousin had some old Harry Potter cards and some were illustrated by the Magic artists we know and love. Examples include Ron Spencer and Ed Beard Jr so WotC does shift their artists around and etc. If that's not worded correctly either I'm too tired or you know what I mean.

And some mechanics just don't care (replicate, transmute, flanking, bushido, transmute). Whether this means we'll see random 1-ofs of ninjas and bloodthirst remains to be seen, of course.

They did that because it was traditional "Ice Age Block" style. It was in one of the last Saturday Schools.
As for the picture, Jhoira is the my choice because Jaya is too feminine IMO to look like that and Braids...well...I don't think Braids has the skill to play with fire like that. Maybe undead, but not fire.
This was a funny vote, and I think a bit unfair. Clearly sketch A is going to win, but I think this is primarily because the sketch is far more developed than B. That said, I would be interested to see how B would turn out in the finished product, because I generally lean towards wacky illustrations. I voted for A, however, because it is beautiful. And what's with that funky creature in the center?
I was thinking the same thing. Because 'A' is more complete than 'B' it'll probably win and I think that if 'B' was the same quality as 'A' then it would win because it depicts some sort of fountain unlike 'A' which appeals to me as a weird Icy Manipulator with a human fetus in the center. That's my opinion.
Damn...he just runs short of making a quick Honden deck (I mean, who has one of those lying around?...)...
I could see him working with the Ravnica "comes into play" enchantments and such, or cheaper ones from Ice Age and Alliances itself that would be sweet together. Oh well, someone will find a decent deck to use this in that will totally pwn in Limited (or Standard if they dare.)
It took me a minute to realize that Zur wasn't swaying to his left with limbs sticking out of him but levitating with his legs soft of folded under him. I thought he had four arms at first, then I saw the other two had no thumbs. Then I saw his body wasn't on the ground so I put 2 and 2 together and got the actual picture.
...yes...i'm slow...
It seems, in my eyes, I've been getting screwed with lands lately. I'm a collector, and not getting the dual lands kind of screws me over because then I need to either buy another box or buy the card off of someone.
I first bought a box of Ravnica back in January and got one of each of the four dual lands in that box. Pretty nice, but then I bought a box of Guildpact. 2/3 of the lands still isn't bad. I also got a box of Dissension last Friday and only got a Hallowed Fountain (Pillar doesn't count).
It was still a good box though, full of Windreaver's, Cytoplast Manipulator's, and Walking Archive's.
I know how those runs are though, of the top six packs, it included 2 Wit's End, 2 Celestial Ancient, and 2 Pillar Of The Paruns. Every common was the same, and each of those packs has a Spell Snare, except for one which had two (foil and nonfoil.) I didn't like that very much.
EDIT: @Kraj. I know how you feel, I got mad amounts of Azorius Guildmages, 2 Rakdos and no Simic ones. I'm also missing a lot of other uncommons while having 12 copies of Spell Snare.
You realize that it could also be Azorius First-Wing right? I mean, First-Wing is a griffin, this shows a griffin. It could be either card and without confirmation your guess is just as good as that.
If we take this into account, maybe we can get some weird, Merfolk Goblin Fungus creature that turns into the pwn.

Interesting card, IMO.

This is a picture that was at the bottom of the new Saturday article by Scott Johns. It looks to maybe be from Time Spiral.
