How much use did you get out of the leylines and angel in the board?

I wonder if a small reanimator transformational SB might work? Exhume / Reanimate / Animate Dead your countered or killed fatties ? I guess Animate Dead could be Hypergenesised ( new word?) out if you had something in the yard. Don't know if it is worth it since Leylines are sometimes just free wins.

Side rules question- Does Prog have protection from in the graveyard?

Leylines are godsend, hand disruption can do a number on us therefor sanctity gives us protection from hymn, duress, and thoughtseize. of course we also run misdirections.

I also play dredge and leyline of the void/wheel of sun and moon are tough to deal with, in a deck that runs 4 force of will Leyline vs dredge is pretty much gg.

as for a reanimator MU they have echoing truths and their own FOWs, so dropping 2 leylines may not be as effective since 1 spell can throw them both back in your hand.
But they too run show and tell and we can use that to our advantage.

exhume/reanimate/animate dead would be horrible in hypergenisis honestly we don't want anything that cost under 3cc to run into when cascading. Not only that only maelstrom wanderer and griselbrand are the only fatties we have that can sit in the graveyard, emrakul shuffles himself and everything back into the library when he hits the graveyard from anywhere, as for progenitus he is even more stubborn than emrakul and refuses to go to the grave instead he jumps straight back in your library and avoids any surgicals/extirpate/macabres.

as for your question about Progenitus having protection in the graveyard, he cannot be put in a graveyard for one thing he is instead shuffled back in the library. but if say you had a creature with hexproof and it dies does can it be targeted in your graveyard? the answer is yes, any card that has any ability if it is in the graveyard or rather not in play it's ability is no longer in effect unless the card states otherwise for example: Bride from below this card only works if it is in your graveyard as well as the dredge mechanic.
same applies to cards in your hand if your opponent plays cabal therapy naming progenitus, yeah he has pro all but only when he is in play, if he is in your hand he can be hit.

also we don't worry too much about our guys dying they are very hard to kill. and since we dont cast the creatures we cast cascaders or s&t even if show and tell got countered griselbrand would remain in our hands until we could go off again.

I can't think how we can improve the MD it works so well, I just think we need to come up with better SB, I loved Iona in mono colored decks she forces them to scoop, she also can stop can handle ensnaring bridge for us

Thanks for the report! I have to throw a die to decide if I'm going to play almost the same deck as yours or basic Sneak & Show next sunday in GP Ghent trials. BTW should I always take draw when winning the die to get more fatties and combo pieces to my hand for turn1 win?

I was just wondering what happened here? If you both play Emrakuls don't they all (2 yours and 1 opponents) go to the graveyard after the Hypergenesis has resolved?

from my experience with the deck I would have to say yes, but it depends on what your playing against; Vs control I would want to be on the play and hope for a turn 1 hyper or s&t if they get a island on the board it can be bad news even with FOW in hand.

sneak and show seems to be more consistent, throughout playtesting I ran into a lot of problems with hyper. however hyper can be extremely explosive.

I have learned you do not want to be trying to top deck mana sources or enablers, if you have no enabler and only 2 mana sources mulligan.
if you have 1 mana source but you have a enabler you should mulligan. this deck top decks poorly.

Recently played in a local tournament with 25 ppl this is the list I went with

Round 1 I got the Bye

Round 2 VS MUD wielder 2-0
game 1 he won the roll and chose to be on the play, he plays city of traitors, grim monolith, metal worker pass.

I kept a insane hand (1x Tendo ice bridge, 2x elvish spirit guide, 1x shardless agent, 1x Emrakul, the aeons torn, and 1x maelstrom wanderer.)
    draw a Misdirection
I play my agent into a hypergenesis I plop down Emrakul, he puts down forgemaster, then I put down wanderer and he scoops

    Game 2
im on the draw again and kept a decent hant (1x Gemstone mine, 2x forbidden orchard, 1x show and tell, 1x griselbrand, 1x progenitus, 1x force of will)
he mulligan to 5 cards and kept
he plays ancient tomb and pass
I draw another Progenitus, land go.
he puts great furnace in play and taps out to cast bloodmoon I force of will pitching progenitus he passes
I draw a simian spirt guide
land drop cast show and tell putting griselbrand on the table, he drops a blightsteel, I draw 7 off griselbrand not seeing what I was looking for I draw another 7, pitch 3 spirit guides and play outburst putting maelstrom wanderer in play and dumping my hand swinging out for the win.

    Round 3 VS hypergenisis 2-0
Sidenote: I had a unfair advantage since I knew what he was playing and he had no clue I was playing the mirror.
game 1 he wins the roll and chooses to be on the play
he places a scalding tarn on the table and passes.
I kept a interesting hand, one I would have threw back in any other senario but not this one (1x city of brass, 2x Emrakul, 2x progenitus, 1x violent outburst, 1x misdirection)
I drew another progenitus :/ it happens...
I play land go waiting for him to play s&t or hyper.
turn 2 he pops 2 fetch lands and put a volcanic and trop in play taps out and pitches a spirit guide playing shardless agent, it was all I could do to hold back my joy.
he puts Emrakul on board and so do I, he sighed and threw down a land then I play Progenitus he has nothing else to put in play so I end up with both emrakul and progenitus and he has 3 lands OUCH! he scooped.
I shuffle like mad and im put on the draw again.
we both mulligan down to 6 I keep (2x lands left this out of my notes 2x spirit guides, 1x outburst 1x wanderer)
now that he knows he is playing the mirror I was pretty sure I would have to break the ice.
we draw go for 3 turns where I picked up some fatties (2x Emrakul and oblivion ring)
    I cast outburst into hyper
    me-Emrakul, him- emrakul, me-emrakul, him-griselbrand, me-oblivion ring, he scoops
    great guy though.

Round 4 VS combo elves 2-1
for some reason I didn't take very many notes on this at all...
I remember all three games I put a decent clock on the board 2x on turn 1 and once on turn 2
I do remember the game my opponent put me on the play and I turn 2 show and tell griselbrand pass I had no FOW in hand, he attempted to combo out I drew 7 no answers so I drew 7 more no answers so the glimpse stuck and he won turn 2
I remember playing S&T on turn one putting Iona naming green and he scooped.
Round 5 VS LED dredge 2-1
again no notes.... after my mirror match I slacked off....
I lost the first match of the round
I won the roll and decided against my better judgement to be on the play for a change of pace.
I s&t on turn 1 I put emrakul in play and he puts a griselbrand on the board what luck huh?
he puts a land and LED on the board and cast breakthrough popping the LED for 3 red.... FOW but no other blue in hand he pitches 1 grave troll and 1 stinkweed, turns his library upside down and beats me down with a zombie apocalypse following a flamekin...boo

game 2 was over quick with a hasted Progenitus I kept 7 cards game 2 with no leylines, and game 3 I remember keeping 5 cards with 2 leylines it was pretty much draw go for a while he tried to natures claim 1 leyline I FOW in response until I stabilized my hand and was able to go off.
Sidenote: in game 3 I was not hosing my hand just to get a leyline just the first 2 hands was crap the initial 7 had absolutely no mana sources and hand 2 had 1 mana sources no enabler if I remember correctly it was 1 spirit guide, 1 Griselbrand, 2 progenitus, 1 force of will, 1 emrakul.

I came in 1st and had some fun the deck is so powerful, and I am surprised no one is really discussing it anywhere.
I do want to do more with the SB... I just don't know what the best way to go.

How about sideboard Jin gitaxis ? As extra griselbrand effect plus good against opposing griselbrands? pitchable as well.

I actually like this idea, great for a turn 1 show and tell, turn 2 they have no hand and then you hyper... it can trump over the mirror and sneak and show decks as well.

I am thinking about adding 2 Aura of silence in my SB, it works well against ensnaring bridge, humility, ect

also playing around with the idea of adding in Eldrazi monument to get around wrath of god, parish, ect

What is the best way to beat this deck in your experience? I see lots of stuff along the lines of gilded drake style effects, playing something like re-animator or welder that makes the show and tell lose value and people suggesting things like ensnaring bridge or elephant grass style cards.

    I think humility is prime
wonder what parfait will look like when it sees play, and how it will effect SnT

peacekeeper is a good stall choice for maverick great thing about peacekeeper is its another human for cavern of souls and mom's protect it as well.

Cool build. I guess its metagamed against a Maverick field? I tried Loyal Retainer+Elesh Norn, but afterawhile I dropped it. It wasnt that great in the mirror because of Scavenging Ooze. Elesh Norn was ok since I run Gaea's Cradle, but I found out Id rather have Linvala in the mirror anyway, or Gideon Jura. I love Fauna Shaman. You can try a single Phyrexian Metamorph in the maindeck as bullet to fetch with Fauna Shaman, thats something I tried and like alot. Its a neat way to get any creature, kill legends or copy your own Knights etc. I also kinda like a singleton Sigarda Host of Heron, but thats my replacement for Thrun. I know shes counterable, but flying and hexproof is awesome in a stall. I'm still on the fence about Thalia, right now I have moved her to the sideboard in favor of Elspeth and Garruk Relentless, because with Terminus everywhere, Planeswalkers on board can really dominate. I also maindeck a single Geist of Saint Traft as well, as he can really break mirrors forcing big damage through, and he and Sigarda are immune to Maze of Ith, and Jace unsummons and can be saved by Karakas in response to Terminus. All I can say Maverick is amazing and extremely versatile and that fact makes the deck so much fun.

I just can't find myself to take out thalia, she is so good against so much of the meta! I do like metamorph, one thing I do want in my sideboard are revokers, I need to get the minscensor's in main board or pitch them all together and free up some space for revoker and wouldn't mind having a 2nd Gaddok teeg in my SB.

I can understand running the linvala main if your going to a large scale tournamnet, in my local meta im the only maverick player so I don't need to worry about mirror matches. I play alot of goblins, affinity, rock, stax, mud, dredge, hypergenises, sneak and show, and storm. I really should include at least a single aura of silence in my SB...

And as for the giest I don't like the blue plash lol giest is a amazing card for sure and with mother of the runes backing him up he really can shine, if you splash in the blue and I don't.

this is what I have been thinking:

I really like Batterskull with humility as a win con, its evasive and with humility it drops permanent 1/1s

I also love wheel of sun and moon main board for the simple fact you can target yourself turning every etutor into a zenith and dodges surgical/extirpate, as well as acts as graveyard hate against mainly dredge.

    still working on the sideboard

might try out 1-2 SFM just so batterskull cannot be countered and I would have another way of tutoring for it.

thats an easy fix, just put some bogardan hellkites in flayers place if you want etb damage.

nah, hellkites are decent but I was looking for a pandemonium effect with progenitus and Emrakul, thats why I was interested in flayers because I thought they did the same thing however I was far off.
if Pandemonium was a creature with a decent body then yeah, but I dont want the enchantment.

if I had to choose to use Hellkites or griselbrands/Emrakuls i would rather use the Griselbrads and Emrakuls.

mtdanielsm, I don't agree with your cutting griselbrand and emrakul to 3 instead of 4. Yes karakas is seeing more play, but I feel like these are still the best 2 creatures we have with progenitus a distant 3rd. I would at least go up to 4 griselbrand because he is the reason the deck is insane.

Also, why run the rainbow land base? I feel like the RUG manabase with fetchlands is much better. I'm guessing they are there for your oblivion ring sideboard, but i'm not sure if that is the strongest way to go.

the reason I took my griselbrand and emrakul count down was for flayer, but I misread the card entirely, and I didnt want to take out progenitus due to the fact he can be pitched to FOW. I have dropped the flayers and went back to playsets of both emrakul and grisel.

as for my land base the main reason is because I don't feel like ordering more duels and fetches, I have RUG delver and im just too lazy to share the lands with hyper, all of my decks are 100% complete as far as im concerned and I hate sharing between decks lol.

I also think hyper can use the rainbow lands and do just fine, it also gives more flexible Sideboards, also with the unbanning of land tax we can see more humility and in my opinion is the worst thing to face off against when playing show and tell.

also Omniscience from M13 is looking pretty good right now.

as for fast aggro I run the Loyal retainerr and elesh norn, grand cenobite mainboard although I never have had any trouble with aggro even if I can't land my elesh norn.

I play it the same way. Furthermore i added Griselbrand. He is nice to play. A 7/7 flying lifelink with carddraw is in this deck a real powerhouse. In the sideboard i have got Iona, Shield of Emeria against monocolour decks or against cards i know they will limit my game play.

I thought about Grisel, and even though if your opponet was able to get you off your retainer game plan you can still pitch him to fauna shaman and help ooze grow so I can see how useful he is. My deck is so tight I doubt i can make anymore room for him though :/
this is my current list, and to be honest its a beast!

    Sideboard

what are your thoughts on Ulven tracker seems to be a legit singleton in my opinion, although I never have tested it I have wanted to try him out.

I was never crazy about the blue splash everyone is doing, I just felt if you was in a position that you had to use a spell pierce you already lost the game anyways.

I hung on to my sword of light and shadow for the simple fact it has such great synergy with fauna shaman. thus the reason I hung on to a single stoneforge as well.

I hate Mindcensor's in the sideboard and would like to work at least 1 if not both in my main (they are also the only part to my Sideboard I do not like)

also thinking of increasing my fauna shaman count to 3! they are just that good.

not sure if anyone has brought these up yet but I will throw it out here:

Im not to crazy about sublime archangel but I do like Odric as a singleton.

    Hey everyone!

Thanks for recommending Angel's Grace last time, it really did help me a lot! My next questions are:
    1. Against UR and RUG, would Leyline of Sanctity be a better choice or Choke?
    2. Also, against Show and Tell and Dream Halls, Ethersworn Canonist, Angel's Grace, or Choke?
    3. Lastly, against fast decks like Loam, Merfolk, and Goblins, how do i play against it? Thanks!

I like choke and tormod's crypt against RUG, but I would think leyline of Sanctity is better in the UR match
against show and tell I like Gaddock teeg and I run a single peace keeper so I can stall the match out until my dudes are much bigger than what they have, it doesn't take very long to do either. I don't think choke is all that great in sneak in show, they can just throw city of traitors and a lotus petal on the board and hit a Emrakul through show and tell as early as turn 1.
as for fast aggro I run the Loyal retainer and elesh norn, grand cenobite mainboard although I never have had any trouble with aggro even if I can't land my elesh norn.
ethersworn cannonist is great against storm and elves, it really doesn't do anything in the dreamhalls matchup I think it would be important to land a quick Qasali pridemage and keep them off dreamhalls. thats why I run 2 pridemage mainboard and 1 in my sideboard. another option would be running aura of silence it also comes in handy against affinity, mud, and stax.
I can see running Serenity although it could blow up your own swords/jittes/sylvan.
