Sir Mordecai, the Unhallowed 3WB
Legendary Creature, Spirit Knight
Wither
~ can't block.
You may choose to have ~ deal damage as though it weren't blocked until end of turn. If you do, prevent all damage it would deal to creatures or be dealt by creatures until end of turn.
3/3
He charges through the ranks, unfazed by their shields and spears
Hero of the Tangle
Creature - Human Knight
Trample
Battle Cry (Whenever this creature attacks, each other attacking creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.)
Whenever ~ attacks, creatures you control get trample until end of turn.
4/3
I really like this card. It’s designed very simply. However, trample doesn’t really feel mythic to me. Regardless, I think the card was executed very well.
8.5/10
bloodyspasm
Quicksilver Hero
Creature - Vedalken knight (M)
Battlecry
When ~ attacks, creatures you control gain ": Return this creature to its owner's hand".
3/2
Wow! This is a great design! I feel like it’s definitely worse than the other heroes, but that doesn’t stop it from being totally badass! Very cool.
10/10
Brofaux
Hero of Esper Winds
Creature - Vedalken Knight
Battlecry
Whenever Hero of Esper Winds attacks, you may scry 2 and draw a card. If you drew an artifact creature this way, you may put it onto the battlefield tapped and attacking.
2/4
First of all, I said the card should be green, blue, or black, but I’ll let it slide because I like this design. This is a really great concept, but I feel like it has the potential to be really broken with cards like Blightsteel Colossus. I think a cooler way to do a similar concept could be (ignore the bad name):
Hero of Trinkets and Treasures
Creature - Vedalken Knight
Battlecry
Whenever Hero of Trinkets and Treasures attacks, search your library for an artifact creature with converted mana cost 1 or less and put it into play tapped and attacking, or an artifact creature with converted mana cost 6 or more and put it into your hand. Shuffle your library.
2/4
I do really like the idea of a hero calling up his buddies, and for that, you get
8/10
Sir Ad
Hero of Mephidross
Creature - Vampire Knight {M}
Battle cry (Whenever this creature attacks, each other attacking creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.)
Whenever Hero of Mephidross attacks, defending player loses 1 life for each attacking creature and you gain that much life.
4/3
Ooh! I like this design! Mephidross vampire is one of my favorite cards, and I used to have a casual white/black knight tribal deck that this would go well in. Anyway, the ability is really cool, and I think this would be a great addition to the hero family.
10/10
DeusofCalamity
Hero of Tel-Jilad
Creature - Elf Knight {M}
Trample
Whenever ~ attacks, other attacking creatures you control get +2/+2 and trample until end of turn.
4/4
This just seems really similar to the first card posted. Therefore, you get:
8/10
Rudyard
Hobgoblin Hero
Creature - Goblin Knight M
Battle cry, first strike
Whenever Hobgoblin Hero attacks, it gets +1/+0 until end of turn for each other attacking creature you control.
3/3
The challenge was to make a green, black, or blue knight. Considering this is literally the exact opposite, I will have to disqualify you. Sorry.
I do really like the reverse battlecry ability though.
Gallus
Hero of Ish Sah
Creature- Skeleton Knight
Intimidate, battle cry
Whenever Hero of Ivory Spire attacks put a -1/-1 counter on each creature defending player controls.
4/3
Wow, this card is really good, and probably broken. The -1/-1 counter ability is already really really good, and then it gets intimidate and battlecry too? I like the concept, but the mana cost is just too low for this type of thing. Also, I'm sure this was an accident, but the card references a different card. Sorry, but for brokenness, you get:
5/10
Socrates
Shrouded Hero
Creature - Illusion Knight
Flying, hexproof
Whenever ~ attacks, attacking creatures with power 1 or less are unblockable this turn.
3/3
The fact that this is called shrouded hero but doesn’t have shroud really bothers me. I do like the ability though. This is definitely a build-around-me card, but it doesn’t make me excited enough to want to build around it. Also, a 3/3 hexproof flier for 4 mana is probably too good.
6/10
pstmdrn
Hero of Shanodin Wood
Creature - Dryad Warrior U
Forestwalk, Battlecry
Whenever Hero of Shanodin Wood attacks, target land becomes a Forest until end of turn.
2/3
An uncommon hero eh? Not sure about that, but whatever. This is just an unblockable Glissa’s Courier with battlecry, which seems pretty broken, and certainly not uncommon. Sorry, but:
5/10
Winterspring
Hero of Blackcleave Cliff
Creature - Vampire Knight
Battle Cry, Lifelink
When ~ deals damage to a player, put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control
3/4
Based on the name, this should be RB, but since I asked for a black knight, I won’t take points off. This seems quite good. I like it. That’s all I have to say
9/10
Jiggernuts
hero of the demons
creature - viashino knight
battlecry
whenever hero of the demons attacks, it becomes a 6/6 demon with trample and flying in addition to its other types and abilities until end of turn.
3/3
your card is more expensive than phyrexian obliterator, and way less cool. also, why is it a viashino? as cool as it would be to attack with a demon viashino knight, do we really need to?
6/10
Prophylaxis
Hero of the Quicksilver Sea
Creature - Human Knight (M)
Battle cry (Whenever this creature attacks, each other attacking creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.)
Whenever Hero of the Quicksilver Sea attacks, draw a card for each other creature attacking.
2/4
Hero of the Mephidross
Creature - Human Knight (M)
Battle cry (Whenever this creature attacks, each other attacking creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.)
Whenever Hero of the Mephidross attacks, put X -1/-1 counters on target creature, where X is the number of creatures that are attacking.
3/3
Hero of the Tangle
Creature - Human Knight (M)
Battle cry (Whenever this creature attacks, each other attacking creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.)
Infect
Whenever Hero of the Tangle attacks, each other creature you control gets +0/+1 and gains trample until end of turn.
3/2
You sure went all out here! I really like all of them, but the green one is my favorite. This is a way more exciting version of the two other trampling heroes. I really like the defensive battlecry mechanism. This card would get 10/10 except... INFECT?!?! Why? That ability just skews the flavor of the card entirely, and also makes it pretty broken. Shouldn’t it have trample instead?
7/10
Daiches
Hero of Havenwood
Creature - Elf Knight (R)
Battlecry
Whenever Hero of Havenwood attacks, put 2 spore counters on each creature you control.
3/5
Thelon's Heroes wield both sword and plowshare.
Yay! Thelon of Havenwood is my old EDH general!
Any card that interacts with spore counters makes me happy. Otherwise, this card isn’t all that exciting.
7/10
Ninja Caterpie
Hero of the Wilt-Leaf
Creature - Elf Warrior (M)
Battle Cry
If another attacking creature you control would be destroyed, regenerate it.
3/2
"Though all of us are destined to fight the encroaching darkness, none of us need do it alone."
I like this a lot, but elves aren’t really known for regeneration. Sure, there are so elves that can, but I feel like the creature type should be troll or snake or something.
7/10
TywinLannister
Death's Hero
Creature - Human Soldier
Whenever Death's Hero attacks, other attacking creature gain poisonous 1 until end of turn.
1/1
The return of poisonous! I feel like this either too good, or not good enough. Either way, it’s kind of boring and not very hero-like. Nice username though.
6/10
Eskimo_Rage
Hero of Tel-jilad
creature- troll knight
: regenerate Hero of Tel-Jilad
battlecry
Whenever hero of tel-jilad attacks, each creature you control gains hexproof until end of turn.
4/3
I thought Thrun was the LAST troll.
Anyway, I like this design a lot.
9/10
Wizzpig
Hero of Phyrexia
Creature - Zombie Knight
Battle cry (Whenever this creature attacks, each other attacking creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.)
Whenever Hero of Phyrexia attacks, creatures you control gain infect until end of turn.
2/2
This seems a little bit like and oxymoron.
Anyway, this is quite a good, albeit simple. design.
8/10
NotoriousLynx
Hero of Llanowar -
Creature - Elf Warrior (M)
Battle Cry
When Hero of Llanowar attacks, add to your mana pool for each other elf that's attacking.
3/3
Okay. That’s kind of cool. It’s not very aggressive though, and I feel like the heroes should benefit their buddies more aggressively. I don’t like the fact that this can only be played effectively in an Elf Tribal deck.
6/10
bloodyspasm and Sir Ad both got a 10/10, but the winner is...
WINNER: bloodyspasm! So the next category is: “a master of arms”
When Aether Savant comes into play, you may return target creature to its owners hand. If you do, shuffle Aether Savant into your library and ripple 5.
2/2
IIW: Create a green, blue, or black "Hero," in the vein of Hero of Bladehold/Oxxid Ridge
Silverchase Mox2
Legendary Artifact T, Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.
Whenever there is an enchantment in play, sacrifice Silverchase Mox. It deals 2 damage to you.
IIW: Make a FAIR card with the squadron hawk mechanic (you can search up other copies and put them into your hand)
When Scheming Ambassador enters the battlefield, put a 0/15 colorless Statue artifact creature token with Fading 4 into play under target opponents control.
Whenever an opponent sacrifices an artifact creature, put X 1/1 white Soldier creature tokens into play where X is the toughness of the sacrificed artifact creature.
0/2
"A gift of peace in all good faith."
-------------------------------
IIW: A friendly colored sword in the vein of "sword of fire and ice," etc.
Sidenote: This was my attempt to depict a "trojan horse" type of statue being given to the opponent by an ambassador. I think that this could be worded more concisely, so if anyone knows how to phrase the card better, let me know.
If WB was spent to play Morphsteel Mannequin, it gains lifelink. Put 2 +1/+1 counters on it as it comes into play.
If WR was spent to play Morphsteel Mannequin, it gains haste. Put 2 +1/+1 counters on it as it comes into play.
If UB was spent to play Morphsteel Mannequin, scry 3 and draw a card. You lose 3 life. Put a +1/+1 counter on Morphsteel Mannequin as it comes into play.
If UR was spent to play Morphsteel Mannequin, it deals 2 damage to you and you draw two cards. Put a +1/+1 counter on Morphsteel Mannequin as it comes into play.
It can be anything you want it to be, as long as it's inorganic.
Enchantment - Aura
Enchanted creature attack, block, or use activated abilities.
Meh.
IIW: Make an awful rare in the vein of Scrambleverse.
Legendary Creature, Spirit Knight
Wither
