Allow me to apologize now for the misconception of the Helvault to be of any specific weight. The TO aforementioned in SyntheticDreamer's post is me. The specified weight is baseless speculation due to me being hyped up since I had just spoken to my WOTC rep. The only real information I have received was the height of the Helvault itself. But considering the large number of posts due to my recklessness (albeit trivial), I will leave by saying it's over 9000! (Yes, I couldn't help myself.) Grin

The only other information that I received was:

We will probably not find nor receive any information about the Helvault until each tier is opened at the event. (From our end anyway.) Rolleyes

They pretty much begged me not to open it early. (No problems here.) Smile

Well, I work at an ABC Store here in Virginia (for those that don't have a clue, it stands for Alcoholic Beverage Control). Rules for us are very strict. Strict enough to ID everyone that appears to be under 30 years old. Now the penalties for selling to an underage buyer is being instantly fired (yes, VA has an underage buyer program on top of a mystery shopper program.)

Now, I will not and cannot speak for the the state of Virginia, and since I'm at the bottom of the line, what I say next cannot be associated with their viewpoints.
    -----

Now I have dealt with drunks, underaged buyers and people that get offended when I ask for ID. In my opinion, managing alcohol is a responsibility. I don't see a problem with the use of alcohol for a person between the ages of 18 to 21 except when they over do it. The main reason why I see the age being at 21 is because the tendency for people under the age to be more so erratic compared to their older counterparts.

If something does go wrong, the last thing I would like to see (although I see it thanks to the media [which you can cuss out if you like]) is a drunk teenager/young adult create some sort of really bad accident. And If I were in their shoes, I rather not have the responsibility of those actions (since I don't trust the judical system here no more than I can throw it...see where that will get me LOL.)

Of course this is coming from a person who's aunt nearly got killed by a drunk driver and who's mother ran off with their father's brother-in-law (cue the drama) the day after Thanksgiving.

So, I have a few reasons for my viewpoints.

You can state responsibility, maturity, etc... all you want. I agree with many of your points but I am kinda biased with my current situation. But, I do not believe, especially in this state, that the age will go down anytime soon. Sorry guys!

OH! First post, Yay! lol Figures before I can post my H/W list. What an intro, and no, I will not buy and ship booze to ppl! lol
