I am planning to play some local PTQ this month and I found this deck is very similar to what I play in legacy: Painted Stone. In Modern format I think the most powerful cards could be Blood Moon, Leyline of Sanctity and Ensnaring Bridge(or Ghostly Prison).
Blood Moon shuts down most three color decks and we can play Koth for the win con.
Leyline of Sanctity shuts down Storm, Burn and Scapeshift. It also beats Thoughtseize, Inquisition of Kozilek and Lightning Bolt.
Ensnaring Bridge is a very powerful card which beats most beat down decks but not Affinity. Ghostly Prison could be better in some situations but it can not beat Tarmogoyf.
Some decks could have answers like Abrupt Decay and Cryptic Command. So I will play at least one copy of Privileged Position or Greater Auramancy. Ajani Vengeant and Assemble the Legion could be very good here. Ajani can win the game alone and Assemble the Legion is nearly unbeatable in Modern. Idyllic Tutor is slow, but it could be helpful if you are playing many one-ofs main deck such as Rest in Peace and Stony Silence. Lightning Helix and Anger of the Gods are very good answers in many situations.
But I found Affinity could be a very bad match up. It's just too fast for us to set up a lock and it's very difficult to lock Cranial Plating without Stony Silence.
This is the deck I will play this weekend.
Looks fun, similar to the list BBD posted a little bit ago. Looks like it would wreck against aggro, how are your control match ups?
Unluckily this deck fold to Esper pre board too. But it's an easy win post board beacuse I take out nearly all the creatures and the match usually ends in a draw. It's also difficult to beat MonoU. But it can beat MonoB and GW easily.
This deck looks like beating aggro easily but actually it really depends on how many removal you draw. I found I often lose to aggro because drawing too many lands. But when you have the right draw, aggro have no chance.
BBD's deck inspired me a lot but I think his list has too many lands. Jace helps a lot here.
I'm thinking drop Soldier of the Pantheon main and put in more burn spells which helps MonoU match up.
Playing this deck is a lot fun. Sometimes you play like an aggro deck and sometimes you end game with a huge revelation. And you can play like a pure control deck sideboard. I think Assemble the Legion is not a good main deck card now, it's too slow in many situations.
I will play a local PTQ next month and I need some help with this deck.
Why do many decks only run 3 Chord of Calling? I think it's the best card in this deck. I have no idea why not run 4.
Is Rule of Law only for storm matches?
Is Thalia, Guardian of Thraben worth 1 slot of sideboard? I think it's good against tron, scapeshift and storm.
Thanks,
I edited this deck based on my test.
some thoughts:
Noxious Revival and Faithless Looting: I hope it to be an aggro/tempo deck, so I really don't like them here.
Vexing Devil: Can't make Stormblood Berserker bloodthirst, so I will not play it.
Bonfire of the Damned: You can cast it as normal if it's in your opening hand. I like it.
Temporal Mastery: It's a huge advantage if it is miracled in T4 or later(if your board is not wiped). Pain in opening hand though.
Thunderous Wrath: I thought this card was great. But I found it's usually meaningless for just burn your target 5. It's also a dead card if it's in your opening hand. So I decide to cut it off.
I played this deck last weekend and ended 3-1.
Some thoughts:
1. 4 HotP is enough, I don't use Intangible Virtue and I think it's a right choice.
2. 2cc is really weak. I think Suture Priest may be a good choice.
3. I lost to mono green. Ratchet Bomb and Sword of War and Peace troubled me a lot. I will add Sword of Feast and Famine sideboard.
4. I used 3 5cc spell including Elspeth Tirel, Gideon Jura and Geist-Honored Monk. I am not sure whether they are really useful.
5. Perhaps I will add Dungeon Geists next time.
If you are running blue, why don't try Mental Misstep and Turn Aside? I think Silver-Inlaid Dagger is a good turn1 drop. You can have an equipped blighted agent and one mana for protection in turn 3. If you are running lash, you can only equip it on Glistener Elf in turn3 and it's easily blocked. Swiftfoot Boots is also considerable if you don't want to run too many protections.
I agree that the main idea is keep your creatures alive and pump them, but obviously you don't want your creatures be blocked unless they are big enough and have trample. So I think the best creatures for infect decks are Blighted Agent, Plague Stinger and Ichorclaw Myr which means UB is a better choice. If you are running UG, you should consider Spectral Flight. But if your enchanted creature get killed, you are losing a lot. There are some other choices like Necropede and Plague Myr, but I'm not sure whether they are really effective.

They print money in short run and neglect the damage they have done to the whole community since MTG is just a business to them.
