Are you sure that the other players from your old store moved to these new stores? If you have not seen these players at the new stores, it is possible they may have quit playing Magic altogether or moved to non-LGS venues.
There may be a small handful that have stopped playing MTG, but I've talked to people that come in for bigger events that are now playing at the other stores. I've also seen them popping up on the other store's facebook pages, talking about events etc...
Have you been to these other stores? If not, how can you know what makes those stores different from the old store?
I have been to one of the stores, but I try to avoid it. The owner is, to put it nice, not a great guy. He cares very little about the customers and slanders the other stores on a regular basis.
How is it that the old store has kept your loyalty? Your store has lost players but you are still there. Why?
The owners are just simply some of the best people ever. They genuinely care about the customers. They know people by name, they make it a point to talk with you when you are in the store. The store has plenty of room, and they always encourage people to grab a table and play anytime of the week.
After reading the many posts, which have been great btw, I think one issue may be their single prices. They have always used the SCG prices for buying/selling/trading. (Simply because most other people use them for trades)
They also prize out top half of most events, which means a lower top end and may push out the more competitive players. But they really want to encourage the less experienced players to keep playing and I can see their point in that respect.
We have had a couple new stores pop up in our area and my LGS has been losing players. The owners have been asking my what they think we can do to bring old players back and new players in. I thought I'd come to the MTGS community and ask.
What makes you go to a certain store to play.
What do you wish your store did that it doesn't do.
Basically what makes an LGS THE place to play Magic, in your opinion.

Here is the deck so people dont have to open another window.
I think Burning Tree Emissary is really bad in this deck. The only think you can cast off it is a Scavenging Ooze, and Elvish Mytics or Experiment One, or another BtE. Just seems really out of place, and a little awkward. I am a little surprised to the lack of Bows in the deck.
The deck needs Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Burning tree into activation is a pretty sweet interaction. Burning Tree also helps turn on devotion.
I've been thinking of adding this recently.
Aetherlings are running rampant in my meta.
Outside of Pithing Needle and Slaughter Games, there doesn't seem to be a good answer.
It hits a lot of other cards as well. I'm really not sure why we don't see it in decklists more often.
Chris VanMeter will be with the SCG crew at the event.

The reason I added this is because Google maps has the store about 1/4 mile up the road.
