The only issue I see with fetches is that you actually need 3 mana since the fetch won't produce any mana.

Any thoughts on running Crack the Earth, potentially with Simian Spirit Guide? Has the potential to be a T1 Stone Rain.

CtE could work if you were willing to add Hatching Plans but that's a real stretch, if there were CtE 5-8 it'd be worth looking into. I don't think Spirit Guides are worth it though.

I've just started playing the deck again on MTGO, trying to prepare a bit for the end of the month FMN. Anyone have any new tech or comments?

I like it overall, but I'd honestly swap out the volition reins. If you feel it can be supported (mana wise), a cryptic command seems like a great singleton, the colored cost is kinda rough though. Still, because the deck is slower resultant from the seething song loss, cryptic feels like a good choice.

So let's say Skullbriar is killed but you decide to send him back to the command zone after all. You cast him again at 2GB, and he is killed again. Now if you Disentomb him is he still just GB? Or is he 2GB to match the last time he was cast from the command zone?

he's GB, the extra tax from being sent to the command zone is only applied when you cast your general from the command zone.

That Which Was Taken produces a static effect while on the battlefield, all permanents with divinity counters are indestructible. If it's not on the battlefield, the divinity counters will remain, but do nothing. So, if someone exiles Skullbriar, then destroys That which Was Taken, the counters won't do anything.
If, however, TWWT read something like "4{T}: Put a divinity counter on target permanent other than TWWT. If it doesn't have "this permanent is indestructible" it gains this ability."

I run it in my Reaper King EDH, guarantees me a few scarecrows if I'm not getting any. The card's also a lot better when it also vindicates.
