So, with Modern Masters, Rebels (and to some extent a few other tribal archetypes) got a bit of support in Bound in Silence being bumped down.
What are people's opinions of including some of the rebels as an archetype in W/B? Right now, Pauper cube is sort of lacking when it comes to very well defined archetypes, I feel. Does anyone think that there's any way rebels could get in to Pauper cube as a decent WB archetype or is the strategy simply too weak?
Not completely certain which of these are actually cubeable. Some of the narrower ones like Lightbringer and Lawbringer might be good, but I think that depends on your cube's Mono Red / Suicide Black support. I feel like it's also not completely necessary that your draft support the entire set of remotely playable ones. Just a few, being able to tutor them out, seems completely worth it.
We've known about the bat tokens for a while, right? Bat tokens almost definitely confirm Skeletal Vampire, so the second someone decides to spoil that, I feel like anything else they post might be worth some real consideration.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Siege Wurm 2.0 either has an ability involving populate or is a Broodmate Dragon-esque creature. The presence of two of them, nearly or completely identical, in the art definitely makes me lean that way in terms of speculation.
All good points, except a creature with shroud can't be targeted by cackling counterpart. Shroud isn't used much by green anymore anyway, and it's not exactly G/W overlap, but they might want to scale back hexproof.
Shroud is a deprecated keyword. It's guaranteed we won't get a creature with ETB Populate and Shroud.
You can start looking back at Block decks when RTR comes out. Before then, M12 and SOM have too high of an influence on decks, largely through some pretty broken cards in SOM and the Titans in M12. Once those rotate out, and their lands rotate out, new things are going to start popping up, probably inspired by block decks.
Well, seeing as they've said numerous times that they intend to reprint many modern staples, uncommon shock lands would be amazing, though of course, very unlikely.
Tezzeret can absolutely serve as a win con, but the deck ultimately achieves victory by stabilizing once you've eliminated your opponents threats. That's why I run four Glissas and only three Tezzerets. Tezzeret is more of a support card in the deck, since he can't really eliminate many threats. If he dies, it's not the end of the world. Glissa dying can screw you over pretty well, so four of them helps increase your chances of keeping one in hand or on the field.
I don't think other infect decks typically run Gitaxian Probe so much... Or Sword of Body and Mind. Or Piston Sledge. I'd see what you could do about getting your hands on a few copies of Skithryx, or more Hand of the Praetors. Also, you'll need more than just Marrow Shards in your sideboard. Conisder maindeck Tezzeret's Gambit.
Well, Wurmcoil/Batterskull/Phyrexian Metamorph are probably about the best things. Blue's relatively lacking in removal, and he's got protection from both of our other colors, which makes it a little rough to deal with him if you're racing at that point. The acceleration is absolutely key in the deck. Getting the Wurmcoil early is absolutely killer.
