EDIT : I now realize the particular issue of the "may" on Ludevic's ability. Because the intent of Player A drawing with Ludevic was clear in all three of your scenarios, I would rule that they chose to draw when that choice was asked of them, as it would happen on Magic Online. They "got got". Now, if that intent wasn't clear, the situation may be different. Player B could not just ask "does Ludevic's ability resolve" and proceed to draw a card just because they got a "yes" to that question as asked. However, if they ask "do you choose to draw a card with Ludevic" and get a yes, then they could immediately stop Player A's motion and draw a card themselves.
Yeah that's the main issue I'm having with is the Intent, even if it's detrimental to the player and the 'May' part.
Obviously no one would purposefully 'draw' with a May ability if it was beneficial for the opponent/detrimental for them. But I feel like that is a nuance that the game requires in card interaction, similar to how no one would 'purposefully' swing into a Mishra's Factory with a 2/2 if they 'knew' that the Factory could pump itself.
Is there a rule that specifically deals with intent on a 'May' ability?
Player A casts Lightning Bolt targeting Player B, this would activate Ludevic's end of turn triggered ability.
Player B at end of Player A's turn flashes in Notion Thief in response to Player A's end step trigger.
Player A acknowledges the card, however misreads it.
Player B asks if Notion Thief Resolves.
Player A confirms it.
Now here's where the things get tricky.
Multiple Scenario time!
---------------------------------------
Scenario 1:
Player A continues with End Step procedure and actively draws the top card from their Library, they have not looked.
Player B stops Player A, calls a Judge and explains what happened.
Does Player A not draw a card and Player B does draw a card?
---------------------------------------
Scenario 2:
Player A continues on with the end step procedure, says "Ludevic's ability resolves, move to draw" and begins to draw the card, Player A has not seen the top card of their Library.
Player B stops Player A, calls a Judge and explains what happened.
Does Player A not draw a card and Player B does draw a card?
---------------------------------------
Scenario 3:
Player B has resolved Notion Thief and asks. "Does Ludevic's ability resolve?"
Player A visually confirms and says "Yes." and draws the top card of their library, they did not see the top card, but it is now separate from the Library like in scenario's 1 and 2.
Player B stops Player A, calls a Judge and explains what happened.

Honestly going into Standard is a decent 'playtime investment' if you really enjoy the game. You can build a good deck for around 300$
Also, don't make the mistake of seeing this game as a 'financial investment' the same amount of time and effort trying to maximize cash value for cards would be better spent trading stocks or bettering yourself in developing a new skill.
I'm offically calling this "Jace-washing". Take a bunch of iconic blue cards and slap Jace on the art. I wish WotC would give up on the whole guild pact stuff.
This isn't really a new concept. If you look at a bunch of the older cards they were filled with the Weatherlight, Urza, Barrin, etc on the cards.
I'm sure Wizards will faithfully continue to disappoint us all with the other Planeswalker spellbooks. Watch out for Naturalize with Nissa and Fireball with Chandra.
Actually I kind of wish they did Jace Mana Leak, but... I could see Chandra with Lightning Bolt!
I guess I'm the one person that's really excited for this product. At 20$ it's an easy buy for me (I'm planning on getting 4)
I love this because they're not all guaranteed foil which was the main reason I never purchased FTV.
The art is Jacetastic, and the Brainstorm is a flavor dream. The pose, the three runes, representing the '3 cards drawn', and the Flavor Text (I have a plan. Actually, I have three)!
Counterspell, Negate, Gifts, Brainstorm, Threads, all easily make it into a cube.
Mystical Tutor is neat, and I play Blue Elemental Blast in Pauper.
The new Jace Border is.. okay, but easily fit in a commander deck.
...I might need to buy 5 so I have enough to fit in all my decks!
At some point in the next month or two these two sets are going to meet. Iconic can be had for as low as 135 USD shipped. A25 maybe around 170 at this time. My advice save yourself 30 to 40 bucks a box and wait a month or two. There is no where to go on EV for A25 right now than down if you are looking at straight financial. I'll let others buy and take the depreciation hit and snap up singles as they fall in the meantime.
I posted a thing about this a few months ago, I think it still holds true.
A quick glance of the majority of 'value' cards shows that the Eventide Lands at a little under 50% of the Eventide Price, I've been seeing Jaces around 80$ to 90$ but haven't fully delved into the other reprint prices.
I was looking at the prior EV listed the box at around 235$ or so. Any updates on that calculation given the current prices?
This set was so bad that they faked a Chinese Leak so they could start Spoiler Season for Dominaria, that way they have an excuse when Masters 25 tanks.

Regular REL, actually if possible, could you provide answers for all REL events?Say for example, (it's Legacy. Wooo)
Player A has Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist in play.
Player A casts Lightning Bolt targeting Player B, this would activate Ludevic's end of turn triggered ability.

I want a Samuel L Jackson Planeswalker.
They still need to complete that cycle.
...They should have had Jace in that pose. "Gift me like one of your French girls!"
