Ok so I'm considering adding Avalanche Riders (because I'm a dick.). Does anyone have any experience with the card in Marchesa? Also, I need a suggestion on what to cut please.
Stromkirk Captain, Boros Charm, and Rakish Heir are worth going into red for as well. I also run both Olivias and Falkenrath Aristocrat. Shared Animosity as you mentioned is worth it but Mana Echoes is meh here unless you have good manasinks as it otherwise causes you to dump your hand too quick and overextend.
Do you use Dictate of Erebos, Grave Pact, and sac outlets in your build? I've considered this route but steered clear due to attemting to power this list down a bit.
I like Dark Prophecy and Vampiric Rites but it's hard to rely on death triggers and saccing in my build. These both seem great if I went the Gravepact route but life is a more manageable commodity in my build. I appreciate the suggestions and I'll keep them in mind as options though.
However I'm running into a problem of too much life lost. I have 10 cards that gain life (8 creatures and 2 walkers) but I have 22 cards that lose life (9 fetches, 3 shocks, 2 painlands, and 8 cards that cost life to cast or activate!).
I need lifegain (or substitutes for existing cards) like a fish needs water. I'm going to make room for Exquisite Blood but I'm after suggestions for more lifegain and/or substitutes for life loss cards and 1 cut for exquisite blood please.
Out: Mana Echoes, Door of Destinies, and Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet
Lol how many edh decks do you own Tev? Glad to see my advice on Reconnaissance is spreading... such a busted card (yes, I'm assuming you read my advice and taking credit).
You had much of a chance to play the deck yet? I'm desperately looking for answers for card draw. I run Necropotence, Phyrexian Arena, Skullclamp, Heirloom Blade, and Heralds Horn and still end up in topdeck mode fast. Just added Greed but haven't playtested with it yet.
You can activate it at any time before the end of the end of combat stage. So after blockers are declared to avoid unfavorable blocks, check. After first strike damage but before normal combat damage is dealt, check. And even after normal combat damage is dealt but prior to the end of the end of combat step, check.
If you want to be extra gross and feel like you're cheating... try Reconnaissance. This card allows you to be hyper agressive and attack all-out while avoiding any unfavorable blocks (this is the 'fair' use).
This card also allows you to untap any first stike vampires like Edgar Markov or Drana, Liberator of Malakir after first strike damage is dealt but before normal combat damage is dealt. (handy for getting +1+1 counters from Drana to your whole team)... obviously busted with Stromkirk Captain. This card also allows you to untap after normal combat damage is dealt for pseudo vigilance as the creature is considered an 'attacking creature' all the way until the end of combat stage.
Ok I've quickly come to the realization that I don't have enough mana-sinks for Mana Echoes. I also don't have the gas to fuel Door of Destinies and Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet eats removal as soon as he comes down and he eats up the whole turns mana.
Ok ty, that's what I thought. I know it was errata'd to change that back in 2014 but I was pretty sure that errata was reversed in 2015. Edgar Markov approves!
Reconnaissance's errata was lifted and this card can again be used for pseudo vigilance right? I.e. after first strike damage is dealt and/or after normal combat damage is dealt but before the end of your combat step.

In: Vindictive Lich (looking forward to abusing this one)
I'm also looking for 1 more future cut to try Herald of Secret Streams when Ixalan comes out.

Reconnaissance is insanely broken.

And no bloodwitch because I wanted to keep the avg. cmc below 3.0. (2.98 currently)

Anyways, here's my decklist... feel free to leave feedback or suggesions. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/edgars-dega-vampires/
I need more card draw so I'm thinking Erebos, God of the Dead.
I also need some boardwipes but I'm undecided which to run. I'm thinking 2x of the following: Toxic Deluge, Damnation, Blasphemous Act, Austere Command, or Merciless Eviction... thoughts on which 2?
