Beta cards have sort of an interior border where the three white triangles are and the a visibly darker black outside border, when I'm looking at cards on EBay it seems like the Rare Beta cards have almost a series of white dots going down the right-hand side of the interior lighter black border, while the uncommon and common cards pretty much blend the borders. Is this white dot line a thing or am I just noticing wear and tear since most of the Rare cards have high quality scans and the uncommon and commons do not?
I just opened a foil Soul of Theros and it is my new favorite foil card of Magic 2015, something about the foil space scene makes me think of Neil deGrasse Tyson.
Until I opened the Soul of Theros I think my favorite was an Into the Void foil with that tornado / light beam all foiled out, with foil Waste Not close behind with the skulls glowing.
I have not seen every card in foil because I've only opened a limited number of packs, what are your favorite foils of Magic 2015 artistically?
In the early 2000's there were major problems with format, some weird expansions and what seemed like little support as the parent company was going through a bunch of organizational changes. This is when I picked up all of my Legacy Staples, I considered dropping like a small life savings amount into them like a few guys did who now own big on-line retailers, but I was legitimately afraid the game might die.
In THIS case I see an opportunity to pick up Legacy Staples like I did at that point at a very reduced price while people predict the end of Magic again. There's no chance Magic will end this time because WoTC is just too well run and too good at what they do now with 20+ years of experience.
I've considered putting one of my Betas up for Auction instead of a fixed price to see where the others SHOULD go, but it makes me super nervous, if I had an Alpha I'd probably just put it up for Fixed Price at 25k-30k and let people make me offers. If someone hit the "Buy Now" button I'd be ok with that.
You still have to sacrifice one for an island and then the other to create two more tokens, then sacrifice one for an island and another for the token, infinite loop of abilities with nothing gained right?
Intruder Alarm's effect requires no mana, so each iteration produces net zombie. You end up with infinite 2/2s and infinite mana.
You have two zombie tokens;
Ghoulcaller Gisa's effect requires one Swamp which you need to sacrifice a token to Phyrexian Alter to get;
You now have one token and one Swamp;

So a few years ago I bought a few of the Italian and Portuguese booster boxes of older sets that were much cheaper than the English boxes. In one of the Booster Packs from Onslaught I got a Foil Polluted Delta which is well centered etc., but it is in Portuguese. How does this affect the price of this card? I'm kind of lost on the price as I've never seen on EBay or here and the brainburst stores have a few listed but seem very expensive.
No it didn't. It started out at 4 and it crept up to 10 slowly. It hit 18 right around its first uses in legacy, and then took off after that. I have been purchasing this card since its inception. The cards that were high upon release of the commander sets were Flusterstorm, Chaos Warp, and Edric. Nothing else started above 10$, and only one of those is still worth that much.
So will the pool of these cards dry up at some point? Or are there so many that they will be available at this price for a long time? It seems like as one sells on EBay another pops up, with older cards like Intuition, Show and Tell, etc. if there are 10 listed and 4 sell it may take a few weeks for 4 more to go up onto EBay.
There was a huge run on this card earlier in the year. Is this card actually limited enough that if that happened again there wouldn't be many left? Or is this similar to Scroll Rack ? Where there have been a number of runs on the card over the years with a new supply of the cardas always coming out of the back of people's closets when they notice it has spiked from $20 to $50 again?
I feel like Scavenging Ooze could do the same thing going from $40 up to $80 during runs and back down to $40 again for a while.
If it's in a duel deck, FTV it's no different. Also usually people want a reprint to bring a card price down. Since ooze is not available in those formats there's no reason to want a price drop for those formats.
As a reminder this is a Market street cafe discussion, not a "I wish ooze was in standard discussion baseless speculation discussion"
Sorry, what my point has been is that I think that if Ooze was reprinted in a block it would be a mythics and it would cost about the same.
Thank you for any help here.
