Made a couple changes to the list, the biggest of which being adding Craterhoof Behemoth from Avacyn Restored. That card is simply redonculous! Retarded good! I also want ed to ask what the community might take out for a Gauntlet of Power. Thanks in advance Smile

Edit: Also, I didn't put him in because I didn't think he was necessary but should Primeval Titan find a spot here? I just rethought it and with all the early mana I can feasibly get him out turn 3-4 and further bury my opponent in mana. What would you guys cut?

I feel that, in Karador, 7+cmc should be reserved for things like Sheoldred, Whispering One, Terastodon, Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter, etc. Things that mess up your opponent, or help you do so at least, with little effort. Not big swingy things that could be good with wipes unless she eats the removal your opponent's been fisting for a bit. Avacyn's home is in things like Kaalia for sure. imo.

Edit: Sheoldred does need to stick to affect anything for sure, but the the others take immediate action and she is much better suited for our gameplan.

Updatez! Just did a few little things to the explaination section like adding some stuff to the "Why isn't "insert card name here" in here?" section. Also now testing Aven Mindcensor over True Believer. How does that look and has anyone got any experience with the nifty bird?

@ coandco The grave hate idea you present is pretty much where I've wound up. I was on the fence before and finally jumped off.

    Thanks for the imput, all.

@ Phoenix I've done that too, although it was only about 4 times. lolz

@ everyone. Idk. I've kinda already answered my question and want this to turn into just general disscusion. The idea though wasn't a question of whether or not I could win with/without my general or yard or what to stop grave hate with. It is "Is gravehate hate worth the slot?" I'm leaning now towards "no, my (yard's) death...will come when it will come" but others may come to another conclusion on it. Thanks for the imput guys

@ Neo/burninate My deck (in my sig) is able to win without Karador, but my meta doesn't run tucking so "why play without him?" is kinda my thought. Winning without the commander is a great deckbuilding strategy, and this deck can, but with the General it's just obcene. Also the deck doesn't just use Karador, there is a whole recursion suite so it's a grave based deck. Not just "Karador recurs good stuff". So the hate is still relevant.

    Thanks for the replies.

@ xaios I have a play group that just throws grave hate in anyway as a "just in case" and sometimes it does just kill me, others I can run through it and still secure a win.

I can also goad people into shooting for their hate sometimes by throwing good cards in the bin and wait for them to throw down a Relic or a Bog so that I can go on about my business without losing too much.

But in response to your post, the grave hate will never leave their decks. We have 3 grave based deck romping around so...

    Thanks for the reply!

Hey everyone! I've been playing Karador for almost 6 months now and have a good understanding of what I want and need the deck to do while playing. I started this thread to pick peoples brains on the topic of opposing grave hate.

It's obviously the biggest pain in our butts but for a while I've been wondering if it is really worth it to temporarily ward it off with things like True Believer and Null Rod. The thought is that I've usually used a slot of my Buried Alive or some tutor just in case the opponent has drawn hate, but I never really know until they kill my gravehate hate and wipe my yard anyway.

So the question is do you guys/gals think it's better to just let them kill our yard when something scary hits it so we aren't throwing more useful stuff into it for that one piece of hate to get when they finally find thier kill spell?

Near-Death Experience! You just get to an odd numbered life total, play it and your General, then right before your turn use her bounce ability and respond to it by putting a bunch more iterations of it on the stack until you're at 1 life. Risky but I'd give you props if you pulled it off.

Thanks guys. @Pookelyduke I actually took out the Empath for a Wood Elves yesterday, just haven't updated yet. The Realms got the cut for Dead Mikey.

@blackkithkin it was more of an "I don't want to instant-win if I tutor for this in 1v1." He is indeed amazing, for sure.

It does. I guess it's better to cut the realms now, before I try to fix my lands to accomedate it. I just really want that card to be good. And mine is spanish. As for the rotation though, it doesn't have to untap, I just have to have green to hate out your yard or whatever. Thanks for the thoughts.

So I really want to test Dead Mikaeus. There isn't anything I can think of that should make me not want to play him. I'm just struggling on what to take out. I am thinking Yosei so I don't just auto win in 1v1 with him and it's the same mana cost so no curve issues will come around. What do you all think?

Huh. you are right. How did I do that one? Sorry about that, I guess I need to swap that myself.

I run both the counsel and Renaissance. Also, Elvish lyrist is a druid so the swap = +1 mana overall. Thus, it is the same exact thing, with the exception that it makes Priest tap for 1 more mana. All you have to do with cards like that is check their eratum.

I'd say take a fatty out for Karn Liberated. He is SOOO good in mono Green/Black decks which have holes in their removal spectrums. Another one, which will help out with wraths, is Creeping Renaissance. Pulls all creatures out of the grave to your hand twice (and it is more flexible than that).

You might try cutting a few more fatties for draw cards like Slate of Ancestry and Collective Unconsious.

Also, swap Druid Lyrist for Elvish Lyrist. $0.25 gets you the same thing but an elf for more Priest mana and Rebecca Guay art. Happy building and such.
