I've been looking in the modern section and liked this combo, but i found out you can't use Green Sun Zenith in modern, so someone told me to post in legacy. I came up with this deck after looking through hours worth of card. Is it any good?
Basically you get Melira, a persist guy, and a sacrifice thing, then do unlimited amounts of things to win. So spawning pit doesn't work, so I just went with Blasting Station.
Sealed Deck and Booster Draft: You come to the event with a number of sealed booster packs (or buy them there), and play on the spot.
- THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO BE AS A BEGINNER!!!
- You get a jump start on the cards you want with drafting
- Games are simple and generally balanced
- Lots of socialization
Casual games are cool if you have a close circle of friends but to get the most out of MTG i strongly recommend you find out when your nearest game store does Booster drafts or Sealed deck tournaments and GO. Ask them about "Friday Night Magic" events too.
Do you know how drafting works?
Yea, that's what I've been playing. But a few boosters, then making a deck otu of that. But I want my own pet deck now. One that I can keep forever with minor tweeks.
Don't worry man, I can tell your new to this. Heres the basic strategies for the four White pairs:
Friendly pairs: WWhite/GreenG
Pros: Gains lots of life, summons lots of hard-to-kill creatures that can become pretty darn big!
Cons: Not a lot of stuff to get rid of opponent's permanents, or really affect anything your opponent has. Its all about you =)
WWhite/BlueU
Pros: Crazy good control and defensive manipulation, lots of flying and sneaky tricks for creatures attacking you.
Cons: Terribly weak damage, the game usually goes by slowly and your opponent will be given lots of time to work with.
Enemy pairs: WWhite/RedR
Pros: Extreme offense and extreme defense! If used correctly, this pair can dominate creature combat. Lots of first strike, haste, and combat tactics.
Cons: Sometimes a bit too extreme (the balance can sometimes swing to no damage or no defense), your pretty susceptible to counters and late game decks too.
WWhite/BlackB
Pros: Sets traps and slowly drains your opponent. Given enough time, your opponent will be doing more damage to himself than you when he attacks!
Cons: Needs time to set up, very weak in the early stages.
My personal favorite of those four is White/Red, but everyone's different. Just have fun and dont get wrapped up in the complicated stuff until your ready
Thanks. I'll try Green/White. I like big dumb creatures smashing their way through.
Oh and which format is the easiest format to get into?
Isn't that the scry from the seer? If anything, I can just sacrifice at end of turn shinanigans and find what I need
