Def a solid card and prob the best tier 2 hero of bladehold variants.
I'd test at 720+

Think it's powerful in boros and mediocre but playable filler in red.
Chip damage vs fetch lands and planeswalkers is real.
Firebreathing can really add up if unblocked.
The silence is an incredible high upside option to have when you have a strong tempo/battlefield advantage.
Playing a cheap creatures and then denying opponent from advancing is a great way to go hellbent and push in the last few points of damage.
It's far too situational to be worth a card in itself, but tacked onto a card that is fine to play on curve while developing, I love it.
Apr 8, 2021I love this card in principle... Think it's a bit too slow/low impact in todays high powered cube environments, but it certainly serves a lot of roles.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
Would test, but don't expect it to stick. I love me some utility and a I love me some elvish visionaries.
Apr 8, 2021This card is awsome! Go for the throat probabily should have been cut by me a while ago, but now there's no debate in my mind.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
When you are behind tempo and up cards, giving your opponent a card to not be drowned in tempo is a huge option to have in a card that CAN trade for parity and solve many situations by itself.
Apr 8, 2021Pretty meh in a powered cube. No interest in it.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
Cheap abilities are way overcosted and the "final" ability is mildly overcosted and generally not what you want to be doing in blue.
Broken in limited and could see some play in the right standard format.
Apr 8, 2021If this were monocolored it would be a staple, but competition is stiff with orzhov.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
It's "interesting" because it's new, but over time this will just be another generic well costed removal spell.
Id test it out if I was looking to mix things up for variety
Apr 8, 2021Not worth considering anything lower than 720, but looks to compete favorably with the non-staple artifact creatures.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
Works really good with the sneak attack type effects. Tier 2-3 tinker target that CAN be hardcast in an artifact deck.
Underwhelming hardcast in an environment with an abundance of exile effects and artifact destruction. 9 is a LOT of mana.
Apr 8, 2021Powerful card, but a little lower on it than most..Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
Doesn't slot well into any of the common black archetypes.
Solid splash card or good in UB tempo.
I haven't been impressed with young pyromancer in cube for a lot of reasons and this is a mana extra.
The 3/2 menace body and built in protection is far from flavour text though.
Def wouldn't play this any lower than 540, but easily worth a test.
Apr 8, 2021Card seems excellent...Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
Only way the card isn't doing something powerful is when they have a strong blocker, which is true for just about every 3 drop (ferocidon excepted).
Even then, if it's later in the game, you can suicide for a card off your library the next turn.
Slot is stacked, but It's a unique card, so i'd rather play it over a rabblemaster variant , assuming power level was comparable... which I think it will be.
Mar 29, 2021Really high floor, versatile card. Unimpressive but ok ceiling. Don't want your cube over saturated with removal like this, but should definitely have some.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
Think it's one of the better 2 mana removal spells in the game.
Mar 29, 2021Not often you see a good 7 mana card.. Think it's a fine choice to test for huge cubes that want to mix up the fatty composition.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
If it's in the right deck, you basically have to kill this within a couple turns or you are gonna lose. High chance you can get one swing off too to guarantee some value.
Mar 29, 2021Great card. Basically exactly what you want to be curving into in any disruptive agressive deck.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
2 mana is a serious tax if you are pushing the tempo hard.. Compared to a mesmeric fiend variant, he not only slows the opponent down, but he ALSO presents a clock that's not far away from curve to do so.
He won't single handedly ruin the plan of a glass cannon combo deck , but that's a fine consoloation.
He's better the more agressive the deck he's in.
Mar 28, 2021Think this card is meh and not at all the second coming of preordain.Posted in: Cube Card and Archetype Discussion
1 mana is a big cost for minor card selection. If you digging to lands early that’s a big cost. If you digging to spells late it isn’t, but not being able to dig more than 1 is a big deal. Especially when your mana sources are often non-land permanents.
Don’t have time to extrapolate more, but I predict it’s way worse than ouat and slightly worse than oath of nissa.

Agree with Fredo that it’s the white side of the card where the power comes from.
3 mana battle cry anthem is a solid addition to any strong white aggressive draw, and there’s additional utility with the untap and toughness to boot.
Anthems suck when you don’t have a battlefield, so being able to play the flip side in that case, is a nice fail state.
also, some red reanimate decks could use the red side as a desperate looter.
