the rules should be VERY simple--we've already proven our ability to be confused by almost anything as it is.

ok, well then I'll work on a version anyway...mine will probably use hexmaps because I have a ton of battletech maps (urban, desert, you name it, I probably have it.)
it will be very similar to the battletech rules except simplified and without big machines or damage mapping.
like for the final bomb mabey roll a 6 sided and only on a 6 does that trooper survive.
mabey for the anti air roll a 6 to decide if the plane dodges...
lvl 1 planes get -2 to the roll
lvl 2 get -1
lvl 3 get +1
lvl 4 get +2 to the roll
that way it makes it hard for the higher levels to die but still possible while still letting the lower levels have a chance at survival...with a bad dice roll for the AA...
a dice roll+modifier system would work wonders for the game...if the mods have no objections I will try to figure it out immediatly and post the results.
What do you mean coddling? We do not coddle our enemies, it would just be unwise to antagonize them with Japan already at war with us, and many nations... not very happy with us. We have to remain calm and Controlled, not... lose control as you obviously have.

the combat system needs to be smoothed out a little...
like mabey defense starts there(except backup) and all others must wait to enter the field...
