About the only deck this really hates on is Dredge...

And the only dredge deck in standard right now is actually helped with this... :p

I'd say any deck that abuses graveyard OTHER than swans. Slant

Thing is, once we splash, cards like Korlash, Tendrils, and corrupt lose alot of effectiveness.

No, after testing some, I found that stalker is not golden in this deck because in some games you will have nothing in the yard early on. Plus, after the first one there is no discount for the others......

Testing redcap now as a 3 of.....

ya, Haven't tested him yet, I am testing Tombstalker though, more fat with evasion. Most of the time he is down at least 3 mana by the time you want to play him, the potential for more discount looks promising.

Well one thing about korlash is the acceleration you get from him, plus a lot of players start sweating when they see a 10/10 korlash trampling over.

But besides a hammer in his hand he does just sit there a lot and bog up the ground for them...

Redcap seems like an interesting card to test, allowing us MORE creature control and More CA. Might help against fae and merfolk more than korlash does.

Umm, BB is one of the main stall cards in the deck and you are thinking of cutting them?

As for the perfect list thats what testing is for, otherwise you are just netdecking. Come up with your own list for your own meta......

Decktags are required in these forums. I tested Ghastlord and found it extremely underwhelming. How has it worked for you?

Has any one tried experimenting with Liliana Vess? If so how does she work out?

Also about how many lands/ creatures/ instants tend to be in a successful MBC against things like Merfolk and Faeries?]

Also which typically draws up more cards Graveborn Muse or Dusk Urchins?

Vess used to be a MD card, now she is too slow most of the time.

If you are gonna enter a discussion, please at least look at the starter deck and then what we are currently throwing around.

No offense, its just annoying for some one to post queries and not even look through the thread.

As for balance of cards, its a matter of opinion, go back a few pages and you will find at least a couple different decks.

Yeah, it is pretty decent/powerful in the meta right now. It's worst MU is Fae. And possibly lark if you have that in your meta. It beats MRB and Elves.

Actually, I'd say that the worst MU is any counter or LD deck. Fae hates spoiling, death, and deserts.

If you are having trouble against fae, play desert, they help alot.

Hmmm, weird, I thought there was another rule. Mabey it got replaced with this, mabey I'm thinking of old rules.

Well, according to that, if you think he is cutting the lands to the bottom, I suppose you can call a judge to make sure.

Of course, according to that, every time You shuffle, he can shuffle. Pass it back and forth enough and you should be fine. Just don't take too long.

Game 1 I mull to 2, dude was crazy cutting my deck to no lands....
    Game 2 (again good cutting)

That's why there are rules against cutting more than 7 times. They added that rule BECAUSE people would do that.

Count it, if they try to cut more than 7 times, you can call a judge. There should be some level of judge at every event.

The only way for mono black to death with anything other than creatures and life is to hit it before it gets into play. Guess how we do that? :p

On urchins, Them removing it means that you just baited a removal spell/counter. It attacking or blocking and dying means you replace it and mabey take a creature with it, and if it actually lives to attack 3 times means you get three cards.

Lark is just 1 match up in where Spoilings is not so effective... then there is always Dstorm and RDBURN, But ill admit, its a meta call, the card is STILL in the deck, but not in MD for me since the formentioned decks are popular in the meta...

    Arcadianemetai

Sorry to prove you wrong, didnt mean to sound smart but... It is what it is. Meta call is the argument im sticking with.

Also i dont really see the point of putting in Spoilings vs fae? what do you take out? i sb in terror and thoughtseize... thats all... They're dudes are all 1/1s already... or at least 2/2s. Care to Explain the Double check?

Most of the creatures have flying, only half of ours do.

Scion of Oona Gives them Shroud, which nullifies almost all of our removal, and since BB is the only flying things other than Demigod of Revenge and they have things that make their creatures MORE than 1/1s (Scion, again), they most likely will keep any other counters in hand unless you play a warhammer or try to kill the scion, OR try to damnation.

Mabey not double check, but it definitely works against them, I don't need to take anything out as I already have 2 MD. But its another trick they can't counter. I like things that can't be answered. Plus, its really annoying to see on the other side. :p

Sorry, but I'm a really strong advocate of spoiling at least 1 of in the MD. Grin If you have a BUNCH of creature less decks in your meta, then do your own thing, I'm just trying to make sure people know the strength of spoiling.

EDIT: I just got eaten alive by a pickles deck. More counters than I have seen in any other deck
Delay, Cancel, Dismal Failure, Venser..... lots of draw too, mulldrifter, ancestral, fathom seer.

Game 1: I get a rather slow hand, he counters everything. Then locks me.
Game 2: I get a fast hand, I eat him alive.
Game 3: I get a fast hand, but he counters everything important and I get stuck on 3 lands forever, then beats me down with 2/2 face down creatures.

MWS is getting on my nerves.....
Counters are getting on my nerves...

Thing about spoiling is, you have to plan a way to use it with other cards, then it becomes golden, letting you use terror or sudden death against pro black, or letting you chump a Cloudthresher with BB tokens and killing it, etc, etc, etc...

I grant that some people don't find it as useful as I do, but that might be because they don't run 4x deserts and 2x mutavault and 4x BB. I generally always have something to use with spoiling that costs no extra.

EDIT:With the lark match up its not nearly as useful because the creatures are already 2 toughness.

Plus, with blink they can nullify all removal you have other than Damnation and Sudden Death. So thats besides the point.
