This same decklist went 4-0 in three MTGO dailies on 7/21, 7/25, and 7/26. Notice there is an extra land and one less Mox. I'm guessing it's to give the deck a better chance to deal with Stony Silence. A couple Spell Snare are in the sideboard, which helps fighting Stony Silence, and Kataki, War's Rage.
So, I am williami1986 on MTGO. This list is actually using a budget, and the list in real life is slightly different with the mainboard containing 4 opals and only 2 springleaf drums. Other than that, the list is the same, on MTGO and my local store the meta game is jund and melira pod combo. I have found that this list has a better match up against both those decks, as jund tend to do a lot of favors for an affinity player by dealing a lot of damage to themselves. Vs. pod, the spot removal is necessary as they are able to get their combo going out of what seems to be absolutely nowhere.
The sideboard in real life is different, and unfortunately I didn't really have the tickets to invest in some of the cards I liked to use... As of today the real life sideboard contains:
I really love this version as people love shocking and fetching in this format, and the burn this list provides will get you there more often then one may believe. Thoughtcast is a card that I have had a long debate over, and the reason I cut it is because I believe that it is a card that is best when you are already ahead in the game, and I've found that with the amount of combo currently in modern, the ability to disrupt that combo by destroying a key creature is required. I understand the debate supporting Thoughtcast, this is just my personal observation of the current meta game.
Any suggestions on sideboard options would be greatly appreciated, the most difficult match up tends to be uwr control, but if this deck resolves a spellskite or arcbound ravager, then it tends to be much easier.
