Question is: Do we really need this card in our maindeck?
It helps to get info about what deck we are playing with, however meta is really stable right now. About the information about counters/sweepers I find it is best to assume opponent have one of those and play safety.
In this place we could get extra dismember, gutshot, feeling the dread, misstep or more counters/bounces.
After yesterdays FNM i found that it is very hard to get creatures on t1 and t2 even on play.
Because there is a lot agro going on, everyone is playing gutshots, wring flesh mainboard. Also WRR comes with galvanic blasts and shocks and slagstorms. Also a lot of decks comes with mortarpods in main.
As we all know mental misstep does not protect bear from getting destroyed. However it helps again other pinging 1 drops targeting our delver or lord.
But u can achieve the same thing with Mutagenic Growth. I know it does not stop opponent delvers, ponders or other non-targeting spells, however it blocks all damage based removals (and not only 1 drops! Incinerate, Arc Trail and, what is most important, lord + lord image against slagstorm!)
I also found it awsome when u could block wurmcoil/batterskull with illusion and destroy it to prevent lifelink.
What are your oppinions about this card? It also helps with trading or getting that 2 points damage to win the game.
