Exactly what happened with Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time right?
Decks playing the powerful card drawers have been winning a lot, and pushing a lot of other decks down in competitive play. Blue-Red Delver decks, playing efficient creatures, card drawers, burn, and some permission spells have been the most successful. Also, decks focused on more burn, or combination decks using Jeskai Ascendancy, have done well. However, as these decks have occupied a large portion of the competitive metagame, the overall variety of successful decks has been suppressed. It is imbalanced enough that Wizards of the Coast has decided to act. In Modern, these cards are easy replacements for one another—while a Delver deck might use Treasure Cruise over Dig Through Time, banning one but not the other would do little to change the deck. Dig Through Time and Treasure Cruise are banned.

Khans had just dropped a few months prior and while I don't have the attendance numbers in front of me, I don't believe there was a "HUGE" dip in attendance during this time.
The difference is that Eldrazi are designed to be strong across the format and especially Modern, as Ian Duke said at the PT, in order to sell an otherwise pretty underwhelming set; while the delve cards were just a mistake in a fetch selling block.
So they wanted the Eldrazi to be OP while they never wanted blue cards that doesn't swing in the red zone to be strong.
Also, PT Washington was in February so my second point perfectly stand.
I'm keep telling this: there won't be any bannings until
1- HUGE attendance drop in the Modern weekend in March
2- Before the next modern PT, if we will get another one
3- After wotc will stop printing this block
Guys, i've tested the deck for a while and i've noticed that reality smasher is not made for a deck like this, maybe is better have 4 sower. What you think about this?
Reality Smasher is just an aggro/finisher option while sower is also a grindy card, so the former is good in aggro build while the latter is a better fit in more grindier/midrange build like the BW one.
Quote me on that:
We won't have any ban until (if ever) we'll have another Modern PT.
wotc wants to make money, they aren't interested in the "health of the format", they only way to get an emergency ban is to not attend the next modern GPs while i expect the exact opposite: tons of new players bringing their freshly opened eldrazi from the sealed pre-release to the modern GP.
I'm seriously pondering on skipping GP Bologna, i'm not sure if i'm ready to face a Ruination Guide in a constructed format.
This might be a disaster for modern but an homerun for wotc.
30K viewers of decks almost entirely based on the last set.
God they know to sell their product.
Heres the deal. I'm still not sold on Eldrazi being overwelmingly good against the whole of modern. Not yet. Channelfireball has over all goal which is "take down the event." Might be this deck was the best for the event, because they knew the meta was going to mostly be rdw, infect, eldrazi.
Pretty much. Diamond Stompy has my respect for now, but it's currently in a position similar to Soul Sisters when that pile of garbage was first conceived.
Some decks are silver bullet piles to an entire meta, especially those that can slam T1 Chalice for 1, but it remains to be seen if it can play in a meta where ban-turbulence has settled down.
Like that *****ty little kind junk, PT is so imbred that even sealed decks like UR Eldrazi could shine,
Hi guys!
I was away for some weeks due to work and i would love a tldr on the scapeshift state, especially on the btl version.
My biggest question is why black and not white, from my perspective white has all the tools of black a part from discard, which we don't run, but a way better SB, the best of the format actually.
I would like to start testing Bring to Light in the deck but i have problems figuring out what's the best 4th color to add.
Probably white is better because the great sideboard option?
In modern black is great at discard and has good fatties with delve but nothing really good for Scapeshift maybe.
It seems the best version in the Eldrazi mirror...

No other sceneries are relevant to wotc eyes

I guess the metagame is pretty diverse: Colorless, UR, UW, RG, BW... Kappa
