Two targets for Wolf Run, also a great target for restoration angel...

This card deserves its price tag. Do try playing around with it. You will love the pure value you get out of it.

This would be my initial change to my BUG HS deck once GTC hits.

The list didn't change whole a lot from my original BUG HS list, but this is where I am going to start things off with. I could have easily splash white for more reliable board wipes, and some juicy big white fatties. I don't even know whether I even need to rely on Deathrite Shaman + Tracker's Insight for mana ramping like I used to if Crypt Ghast + Farseek combo can ramp me up consistently well. Could just put a tutor card in place of it, or more creatures.

Another deck would be Omni-door that leans black heavy with Crypt Ghast. But it might be too unreliable to solely depend on Crypt Ghast for ramping, so balancing and trimming the deck just right would be the key point.

Thundermaw is getting hated on big time on MTGO. Even Jund ourselves pack 3 Ultimate Prices...

Wish Rune-Scarred Demon was still Standard viable...but there are definitely fatties and big spells we can play to win with all the mana flowing.

We could free up some spots for Diabolic Revelation or two. We might come up with really interesting ramp deck.

With name like next-level zombies, I would have expected to see lol troll (Plant Zombie!).

I really like Thalia here...but this could leave a zombie shell and just include good cards from other colours.

    Quote from Yorutenchi
I played it back when mono G was a good deck (all of a month) right after DKA. It was a good little removal spell since a lot of things were on the ground. It was primarily there to get rid of titans swinging in. I could flash it after the relevant triggers have happened so he is safe and sound and able to trade with the titan.

It sounds like a bit less optimal way to deal with titans I would think. They already got value out of it by swinging with him. But better than nothing I suppose.

You said we have R/B removal. I am not contradicting that. I was stating (sorry if you misunderstood/i worded it wrong) that Viper is better than Sorccery speed removal, IMO.

Are there any amazing constructed playable problematic creatures with first strike that are worth blocking?

And an opponent using removal on Viper, would be to our advantage in a few ways 1) Stuff for Deathrite Shaman 2) Drawn out their removal, allows us to play our problematic creatures 3) They just wasted a removal spell just to get some damage through/protect their creature.

However, i understand where you are coming from, and i completely understand if you don't want to play him. Maybe Gatecrash will have some answers. And yes, the flying is a major downfall, as there are plenty of constructed playable problematic creatures with flying.

Oh, I simply meant Red, or Black removal. Not both put together which only leaves Dreadbore - and not even an instant speed removal at that. Tragic Slip, Ultimate Price, Abrupt Decay, Searing Spear...

Silverblade paladin? We see way too many of this guy. Thalia...Inquisitor. GW puts up quite a fight. Oh, Ash Zealot is a big deal as well.

Only occasion where I would prefer to include Flash in death-touch creature is against GoST. And they will not expect to see Viper coming at all and simply swing into it. But then he might leave up Restoration Angel mana if he was a very careful player so...Yes, I would still say Viper is such a narrow pick to deal with only one problem.

It will be fun deck unfortunately...Combo is just too unreliable and won't go off fast enough to be competitive.

In order for combo deck to be playable it either has to be:

    1) Go off as fast as possible. (Standard Storm came very close to being viable but seems like it is just little too unreliable).

    2) Each individual combo piece is actually good enough on its own that warrants a spot in a deck and will win you a game without having to rely solely on combo. (Pod deck comes to mind).

    3) Can be played in a control shell with tutors (Omni-door).

Please enlighten me. Does Jund have any non-restricted instant speed removal? Murder is all i can think of.

Uhm, if you are going to put non-restricted instant speed clause in front of removal part, then you put words in my mouth. But fact is, we already have competent instant speed removals that hit most of problematic creatures.

Now, if you want to use flash-in creature to do the same job? What makes you think that they don't have a way to deal with it? First strike? Or simply removal of their own? I would rather see Avenger before I see 2/1 death-touch if you are aiming for this. And also pointed out early, seems like it won't hit flyers so there is another added con.

Why do we need such a narrow creature removal when we already have access to 'insert any R, B removals.'

Sure it can be 2/1 beater sometimes but I don't care much for it. I would rather play hard removal that I know that will get the job done, and play my better creatures that they will have to answer to.
